Hello guys and gals i have a few pics of my setup

29Gallon marineland deluxe setup

ok here is what i have (setup)-(fish)
some granite rocks
plants
bio-wheel filtration system 170
fizz stone
300 watt heater
and super pump for fizz stone
current PH level is 7

4 cherry barbs
2 african cichlids (convics)
2 tiger barb
2 thai giant khuli loaches
3 gold fish one is over 6 inches long (my son's fish)
5 red wags

ok i am picking up 2 more cichlids and 2 bala sharks and i am wanting to get a rocket gar or 2

i cant seem to upload pics so i will soon

NIce tank. But i guess its a bad stocking. Tiger barbs with goldfish abd africa cichild. R u sure your tank is fine.

nice layout, but i'm not sure about keeping tiger barbs with goldfish, convicts too, its the tropical/coldwater thing, as well as the aggressive/slow moving target thing too
and your tank is too small and stocked for balas, they need much larger tanks.

not a bad tank,
but i agree with the other posters,
your stockings a little off, the tropical and coldwater fish should never be mixed, and you have some aggressive fish in there already such as the tiger barbs who will nip fins of other fish.
maybe a lot more plants in, i hate to see a bare tank.

everything seems to be fine so far 3 months with this setup..

water temp is 27
and all of the fish are moving around fine
yes its a bit odd but i got a 20 gal tank with one evil oscar in it and i dont want him in the big tank..

bala sharks would be good in a 55gal tank?


also any info on rocker gar?

oscars nedd bigger tanks then 20g
bala sharks are shoaling fish and still grow too big for 55g IMO

ahh ok

my oscar is still only small about 4 inches

there are a few tanks i am looking at one is a 55 gal and the other is a 108gal 400 for the 108 and 250 for the 55

still debating on what one to get

think those african cichlids look to me like jewel cichlids not convicts as the new world and black stripes like what convicts wear in prison

i would deff take out the goldfish as the should not be in that temp of water and cert not with that mix.....trust me i know ive done it for a emergency which world war3 broke out,,,,,,,,,,,,if they are jewels theyll get aggresive in a small tank

i went to the lfs yesterday who had a 6ft tank with 4 bala sharks in it and boy did they look cramped think the get big

i know you might think people are having a pop but there simply trying to help......cichlids in small tanks are aggresive because they need terrotory.........and might not get on with the tank mates you chosen for them......

Well, they would eat just about all of the fish in your tank. Even a small gar would.
