I'm pretty sure GBD shows itself in the form of clear bubbles, tho I've only seen a pic of an affected eye.

I would say this is possibly lymphocytis...more white in color, forming clusters. aka cauliflower disease
It's a virus...can be contagious---your other fish are doing well? One reference suggests keeping the fish in quarantine for two months, then considering it safe. Another says sometimes it can take a whole tank---while other times it doesn't spread and the affected fish can go on to lead a long life, tho the 'stuff' may not go away.

No proven treatmt...maintain top water quality...may clear up on its own.

Just a couple links (the suggestion of a freshwater dip is for saltwater fish, where it's more common)...

I removed my filter carbon and just put in a dose of Maroxy anti-fungus and some MelaFix. I will probably dose again in 2 days since the clowns might not like daily doses.

Try to cycle the water so there is no salt i it. the salt burns the skin of plecos may be these are blisters from the chemical burns.

Good idea. I did a 15% water change over the weekend and I did not add any salt when I put in the new water. I might do the same tonight.

Hi there im kinda new to the fish thing and this question doesnt match this forum but i have no idea where to submit it so here it goes i recently got a pleco and was wondering wether it needed a heater or is it ok as a coldwater fish?

and could someone explain to me the % water change and what is meant by it and how i should go about it?

So is your Pleco alright now? I want to know because my betta has the same thing and I want to know how quickly they recover. Of course this varies with different species but an approximate would be great?

I wouldn't be worrying about too much oxygen, although pond weed doesn't sound like nice stuff!

Percentage water change is how much water you remove and replace. So a 25% water change means syphoning (google it if you don't know) out 25% of the tank water and topping it back up with new water*.

New water needs to be either treated with dechlorinator, or at the very very least stood for 24 hours before adding (and if your supply has chloramines in it then even this isn't ideal). Never ever put brand new tapwater straight from the tap in though as the chlorine will kill you filter's helpful bacteria.

A 25% per week water change habit is a good one to get into and will keep your water clean and your fish happy.

I suggest if you've been putting salt in that you do 25% water changes every day for a week and then see how your fish is and move to 25% a week. Pick a time/day and do it every time, don't let it slip or you'll have problems. Ironically, it;s beginners who don't keep their water tip top that have problems with their fish's health. Keep your water lovely and you'll rarely get any problems.
