I'm seeing a lot of posts where you salty people use pico, nano and a few references to micro.

now my understanding is this
Nano is a prefix is used to mean one billionth
Pico is a prefix used to mean one millionth
also Micro is a prefix meaning one millionth

so how are you guys defining the words.
what exactly is a nano, pico or micro tank?
surely a nano tank is the smallest and pico is bigger.
so shouldn't this forum be called the pico forum as most people are keeping pico tanks and not nano tanks?

oddly confused

In engineering terms:

mili = 0.001
micro = 0.000 001
nano = 0.000 000 001
pico = 0.000 000 000 001

Generally, the border for nano is around 20-30 gallons. Below 5 gallons is oft considered pico.

A chart of the SI prefixes is on wiki here[/i].

Hey..we're at the bottom of the page. What do we know? I think they just grab terms to be honest. SH
