Just bought these two little fellas but can't for the life of me remember what they are called.

They said they would only get to 8inch and I thought spinys get to about 12" ??

It looks like a horseface loach but im not familiar with these types of fish.

Thanks for your help guys, found my way there in the end. Its a Barred Spiny Eel called MACROGNATHUS PANCALUS

Only grows to 7" so should do well in my tank.

That is a spiney eel for sure and common fish stores very often falsly advertise the sizes of fish etc.
