Photoperiod

I currently have the photoperiod on my tank set to 8 hours and this is split:

5 hours - 7am-12pm
3 hours - 6pm-9pm

My questions are is the photoperiod sufficient for a planted aquarium and am I ok to split the times or should I be looking to have a continuous 8 hours?

I dont see a reason for the split? Unless you have one? Too mich of a gap for my liking between the split too, too unnatural, id go continuous 8hours for sure

Thanks, the split was due to me wanting to be home when the lights were on, ie the morning and evening. I'll change it to 8 continuous hours in the afternoon/evening.

Yeah I can understand but would be best as advised, i have mine from 3-11pm

I've now set the timer to 2pm-10pm
