Hi all.

I was wondering what enemies does peanut worms have that is what animals to avoid to keep the peanut worm safe.

We got one that came with live rock we bought. Do these worms only feed from the sand bed or do they also filter from the streaming water. So, this means should we leave some food for it in the newly set up tank or how long can it starve? It is often said that this animal is nocturnal but with us it is out of its hole day and night so it might be already starving as just this piece of life rock where it sits in has come from a live rock only tank without anything else in there.

Larger predatory fish should be avoided, as should predatory crabs and shrimp. Somethin like a Coris wrasse or bird wrasse would be a bad idea, as would lionfish or frogfish prolly as well. Pretty much anything that hunt's for inverts and is generally listed as questionably reef safe should be avoided. Other than that, peanut worms I hear are very hardy and you pretty much just let them scavenge for themselves
