Not sure if this is double posted or not...sorry if it is!

I'm still cycling, so i'm not adding any new fish for a at least a few weeks, however I have 4 phantom tetras who are all doing well, and I want to have a small school ( shoal, herd, whatever lol) eventually. What is the optimum number of Tetras for them to feel secure in the tank? I have a 29g tank. I was aiming for 6-8, is this appropriate or will they do better in odd numbers?

I have Phantoms, but I'm really attracted to the black Skirts, if I add in 4 black skirts, will they create a separate group to themselves or will they mingle together with the Phantoms? Anyone have experience with separate varieties of Tetras?

Just getting stocking ideas :) Thank you!

I have a pair of gold dust mollies, and 4 phantom tetras so far.

It is best to have a minimum of 6 for any schooling species to make them feel most comfortable. After 6 it doesn't matter too much on how many there are whether it's an even or an odd number(I don't think they notice lol). They may interact together but they will still probably form their own groups but I'm not too sure I don't have any direct experience with them.

Some people reckon Black skirts can be aggressive although i've never kept them. What type of Phantom have you got, Red, Black or Yellow ?
