Just thought I would make a post where I could share all my photos. I'm developing quite the habit for it. :p My first 20 or so were pretty fuzzy and out of focus, but I seem to be getting the knack for it, because I took some pretty nice ones this evening. :)

Here it is, my first fish tank ever. A lovely little 10g that currently houses:
1 African Dwarf Frog (Fhergy)
1 Mystery Snail (Bento)
1 Amano Shrimp (Shorty)
5 Fancy Male Guppies

A pic of the tank in its original state:

The new improved tank with log deco (which Fhergy has since taken over)

Can you spot the african dwarf frog?
I'll give you a hint, he's staring right at you...

Okay, here's an easier one. I somehow managed to get both of them together!
I still need to settle on names for these two....

Here's the little male, a feisty one who swims around like a maniac and is
anything but shy. The pic is a bit grainy, but you can sort of make out the
gland behind his arm here.

And the little female. She's very shy and spends her days hiding in the dojo
or floating at the top of the tank pretending to be dead. (Scared me to pieces
at first!) I never see her eat, but she maintains a decidedly ungirlish
figure nonetheless.
:rip:

And how could I forget Bento? My poor little mystery snail that almost turned into
a "boxed lunch" for my betta. His shell is starting to look a little banged up thanks
to his frequent "free falls" down to the substrate.
His antenna is growing back amazingly fast though.

Shorty is one of the newest additions. I absolutely love him, he's so interesting to watch!

Here is Red, one of my guppies. They're active little fish, so very hard to get a picture of.

And here is my little 3g which houses my Moontail (shh... SD!) Betta, Darby O'gill.
I decided I couldn't stand the thought of my frogs getting hurt after Darby
snapped off one of Bento's antenna, so he got a little place of his own right next
to my computer.

Darby loves exploring his little barrel. It has holes in the front, back, top
and side for him to swim through, and he uses them all equally. The pic
is a bit larger because it's an earlier shot, but I think it turned out alright.

Here are some close ups of the little show off. Most of these are self explanatory, I think.
:D

Update: Darby has since built his first bubble nest! And boy was it a doozie!

He was VERY proud of himself.

And last but not least, I just had to share this adorable pic of my cat Max meeting Darby
for the first time.

Oh my goodness.. that 10gallon is just so lovely! So tranquil! I LOVE IT!
I'm not a frog person myself, but I absolutely love the pics of yours. Specially the girl heh.

I have to say your tanks both look lovely, I like your layouts. Very simple, not overdone at all but you still provide lots of hiding spots for the fish and, er, not fish. Nice photos too, mine never come out that clear.

I've really got to figure out how to take pictures of fish, not that my tanks are frequently anything particularly stunning. Why do I have to like both planted tanks and herbivorous fish?

scuze me do you has a flav0r?

 He's probably thinking cherry flavored yogurt, his absolute favorite.

Aww, you really think so? After looking at some of the amazing tanks in this forum, I thought my tanks seemed so amateur. Thank you so much!
I just can't undestand how anyone couldn't love ADF's. They're so full of personality, they're a hoot to just sit and watch. :D

Thank you!!  I actually did try to leave enough room for the inhabitants (lol, I can't exactly call them fish can I?) to swim around and rest on. The only problem is that since I switched to a smaller gravel, my poor little froggies can't climb up under the dojo like they used to. They too short sighted yet to figure out the little "door" at the front, I think.

I found a nice thread around the forums somewhere that had some good tips on taking good photos. I'm using a pretty high end digital camera, but I've discovered that it's actually better not to use zoom unless I'm standing quite far away. If I can find that link again I'll let you know... I think it's pinned somewhere.

Very nice tank photos.

Thank you!

I like your tanks a lot. Very unique designs especially the first photo :good:

 Really, I'm starting to get an inflated ego... Thank you!

Too cute! Lol, does the ADF ever walk up the steps to the little castle thingammuy?

love the 2nd picture :hyper:

Ahh, so someone finally spotted him? I tried to show my fiance and he couldn't find the little frog until I circled it!

Oh yeah, they climb all over it! They seem to like hanging out in the "yard" and underneath the little fake plants on the edges of it. The second pic is actually a close up of the back of the dojo where the bamboo "fence" is. They climb all over and through that. But my favorite is when they pop out from the little space right underneath the building. I like to tell people they're practicing "frog fu". :p

Oops! I missed your comment this morning. Chalk it up to a lack of caffeine. You really think they're unique? That's quite the compliment considering there's so many other beautiful tanks- thank you!

I do think they are unique. Wish I had spent a bit more time exploring the many different aquascaping possibilities there are out there before jumping in at the deep end so to speak. Some of your ornaments I have never even seen before!! Where in the world are you ?. Amazing looking tanks :good:

I was wishing the same thing too after seeing some of the awesome aquascapes here at this forum.
I'm in Washington State, and I found both the decorations at my local Petsmart. After having been to every different pet shop in the area, I suppose I got a bit lucky with the dojo lol! It is kind of hard to find nice decorations that aren't cheesy.

lovely tanks :good:

i'm not usually an ornament person, prefer the natural look. but sometimes you see someone come along who gets it just right with ornaments and it looks great. think your one of them :good:

 That's quite a compliment, thank you so much Miss Wiggle! Especially after seeing your tank.
