Want something natural to help you with this? Try Bogwood. Not kidding!

Two advantages:

1) it looks naturally great
2) lowers the PH
3) if you have enough pieces, offers plenty of hiding places

Not a disadvantage, it'll turn your water to slight yellowy colour. Don't forget you can either boil your wood or, like me, left it as nature intended. No experienced any problems with the latter.

hello,
i use natural limestone rock to raise the pH, it naturally buffers the water.

cuz i'm going to the petstore to buy mollies and swprdtails and my pH is around 6.2
