Hi,

I think all is well in the aquarium, the guppies are giving birth and so on.

However the Ph test result given by the Tetratest 5 in one strip tester would suggest a low ph, around 6.0. The test result from the interpet liquid ph test suggests its slighty above 7.0.

This concerns me. Which is right, anyone recommend one they trust. Or should i get my teenager to "borrow" some litmus paper from chemistry class when school goes back.

All other results are good No2 No3 etc are perfect.

In the tank only a 70 litre thing are:

2 bronze corydoras
8 neon tetras

5 adult guppies

8 or so baby guppies, these will be going to visit friends and staying there shortly.

Ty for any info.

I have always given greater accuracy to the liquid test kits. However if it concerns you take a sample of your water to a couple of LFS and see what they get. That is what i do just to confirm strange readings. Also if there is an aqaurium club in your area this is a great resource for this type of thing as others will gladly test your water for confirmation of readings. HTH :)

I like my liquid kit a lot better and I feel the test results are more accurate. It's funny you mention litmus from your kid's teacher. I am a science teacher and have tons of litmus. I tried using it last year so I wouldn't have to buy the liquid test kit but I have not found our litmus to be consistantly accurate, at least not like the test kit.
