Well i'm having problems with my pH. It's testing in the yellow (wich is obviously not good) and the pet store keeps telling me to just change most of the water and it should fix it. So i went and changed a little more than half the water and guess what, it's still testing in the yellow. So i went back to the pet store and you guessed it, i was told to change the water again but this time to take my fish out and vacuum my gravel. Now i have doubts about changing part of the water again, so what should i do?

Carrie,

Can you help me out a bit here. Answer these for me and we can go from there.....

What size tank?
How long set up?
Substrate / Rocks / Plants?
Other readings? Ammonia, NitrIte, NitrAte.
Fish you are keeping?
What is your actual PH? Can you give me a reading on this, not just yellow (test kits vary), or is your PH is fluctuating can you tell me from what to what?

Sorry lots of questions, but it will make trying to determine if there is a problem a lot easier...... :D

Carrie,

Apologies didn't realise what other people had already chipped in, this multiple post thing is a pain in the butt.....

If your pH questions have been sorted great, if not go with the above and lets see if we can work out the problem as well as the solution. Hey prevention has gotta be better than cure......

Take care....
