Hi
I have read that you can dilute replacement water with demineralised water, I live in a hard water area and the PH reading in my tank is 8.4.
The tank is about 6 weeks old, i put some danio's in the tank after three weeks but unfortunately they all died. A few day's latter some fry appeared in the tank, there are two and the have grown and are doing well.
I have six plants in the tank which is 18" high by 12"x 12", They look a bit sorry for them selves, i did a water test of the tank it read PH has i have mentioned, ammonia between 0.10-0.25, nitrite 0.00 and nitrate 10ppm.
I have used fertiliser to feed but think the PH is affecting the plant's, Forgive my ignorance but is ionised water the same as demineralised, I want to manage the tank i hope without going down the C02 route.
can some one advise me.
Thanks
Ronkey
