Ok,
I set up my tank just a week and a half ago and and its now totally clear and looks really good,
I have done a PH test on it and it is a bit high i belive 7.5.

Is this safe for most tropical fish these days as i have read on diffrent sites that using a PH down chemical can cause problems in thank and as im a newbie to keeping fish didn,t really want to try this

Any advice you have would be appretiated. :/

A pH of 7.5 is by no means high, in fact most fish will do very well in it.

It is far better to have a stable pH than one that is always fluctuating.
If you do need to alter your pH (not recomended) there are natural ways
like adding peat to your filter (lowers) or adding limestone to the tank (raises)

I think you may find the following topic usefull

The best advice I can add is that if you are new to the hobby, choose fish that will do well in the water you have. Even experienced people tend not to mess with pH very much, it can be tricky.
