ph level

hi all, im new to this site but i have had aquariums in the past(just got another one after about 9 years without)my water level was getting low & i added about 5 20 oz. bottles of bottled spring water to top it off & my ph shot from 6.8 to about 7.6..i dont think i harmed my fish but i had no idea spring water had such a high ph level.should i avoid doing this in the future or is it ok? thanks

i have no clue why you would throw spring water in there. use tap water that is dechlorinated by chemicals you can buy at fish stores. you have no idea what could be in springwater. just leave the pH alone now, but makesure to use de-chlorinated tap water from now on
