what would make the ph drop for no reason I havent added nothing to the water and I noticed the shark had changed colors so i checked the ph and it was 6.0 I normqlly keep it at 6.8 how can I get it back up without harming my fish

Soft water can cause pH to crash. I've read that it's not really dangerous 'til it's below I think 5.5 or so, maybe lower, but (w/ my kit anyway) 6.0 is lowest, so I figure ya don't know how low it really might be.

It is suggested to alter the pH no more than 0.2 in a 24hr period, maybe 48, but I think it's 24.
I would suggest a water change (what's your tap's pH?). Maybe 20-30%--trying not to be drastic--and see how it measures.

Once it's back where you want it, there's a few things you can do to stabilize the KH. Personally, I use crushed coral in a mesh bag in the external filter.

Might wanna check your water hardness, I could be wrong...but it sounds familiar. ;)

I dont know how high it really is out of tap my testing chart only goes to 7.6 and my tap water is like 7.6 it is top of the chart high it was a yellow color on that little chart like a 6.0 it changed my sharks color and my pleco to.it had me worried I have never had that to happen before.

How long has your tank been up?
Generally, hard water has a high pH and soft has low. But there are exceptions. My pH comes out very high, but the KH is virtually nil. Didn't realize this for a long time and was pretty alarmed when I got a 6.0 reading.
As for the color chg in the fish, I dunno, but like I said, I would try a wc, just not a huge one--unless someone else can advise otherwise--and maybe another in a couple o' days, depending on your tests.
