Hi,

I am continually irritated by the little transparent suction cups that come with air tubing, live feeders, etc.

After just a few months, they turn an opaque white, and then stiffen up so much that they loose there ability to make a nice vacuum and stick fast.

Can anyone recommend a nice aquarium-safe rubber suction cup or similar, that will not stiffen after a few short months? I'd rather not have the magnetic ones as I don't fancy stuff clinging tot he outside of the tank (hope I'm not being to fussy!).

Cheers,

Stephen.

place you old suckers in hot water to revitalise them
other than that I use Eheim.

Tis true, you tend to get what you pay for. Firms like Eheim use better materials, so they work better and last longer. The "heat stressing" mentioned above will work for some plastics for some time, eventually, PVC "rubber" cups will fail. Google for a local supplier of silicone components if you really want stuff that will last for ages.
