last night i noticed my peppered cories were all zooming around the tank, two (i think) males were chasing a female (with no eyes) that i've had for about 2 years, shes one of my first two, and the other three are about 3 months old

i actually noticed eggs on the front and back glass, and to my amazement, saw what cories do to reproduce!
the blind female was laying eggs into her cupped pelvic fins and Drinking the males milt, i double checked on the internet to check that my eyes wernt decieving me

what should i do with any remaining eggs? any info on saving any fry would be great?

thanks in advance

Hi mattbond :)

I'm going to give you a link to a very good article about breeding corys. If you still have questions after you read it, please feel free to post them here.

Once your corys start breeding, there's a very good chance they will do it again. If you miss this batch, perhaps you will soon have another chance. If you decide to rescue the eggs and raise some cory fry, we'd all be happy to learn how they do. :D

FYI - there is much scientific debate as to whether or not the female actually ingest the milt. The general consensus is that the female applies direct pressure to release the milt and then fans it to her pelvic fins to fertilize the eggs. The one Japanese study which claimed to prove that the milt was ingested, was determined to be flawed. This is an area of considerable debate, to which one should keep an open mind. What you think you see can oftentimes be misleading. Just a point of interest you should be made aware of. - Frank
