hi all

wat veg can i feed my pepper corys??

and how can u brred them???

thanx

How many do you have? What are you feeding them now? How big is the tank? How long have you had them/it?

General info: keep in groups of at least 3, preferably more. Supplement food, as you are already doing.

I don't know what type of vegetables you can give your corydoras. However, you hsould invest in algae wafers and shrimp pellets. And vegetables are a good way to vary the diet.

My Pepper Corys eat cucumber (and maybe zucchini?), but not when the lights are on and I'm around. I happened to catch 'em eating it one time when the tank lights were off and I walked by the tank. Sneaky little fish

Breeding pepper cories is simple ;)

What you need is a male and female :D the males generally have a longer and pointier dorsal fin (The one on top ;) ) while the females are bigger and if you look at your aquarium from the top (Birds eye view) the females are alot rounder and appear fatter.

Now once your cories are into each other and want to breed the female will kind've suck the sperm out of the male which goes straight to the eggs (The only way i could put it lol). The female will then lay the fertilized eggs onto the side of the glass generally.

IMO you should remove the eggs carefully using a spoon or something of that sort. Move them into another tank, i tend to put the eggs back on the new tanks walls lol. Now generally many of the eggs will rot....but after 3/4 days or so they will hatch....the little critters will be hungry. I have a special food i give my little babies. I boil an egg right...now I split it open and get about 1mm square of egg and put it on a spoon. I add water to the spoon and make a mush out of it. I add this to the tank 2 times plus other foods. The egg can make your tank very cloudy and messy because its full of protein. If this is so don't give them any egg for a while. I find that egg makes them grow about 60% faster lol.

Anyways after a while they will get big and you can do what you wish with them ;) ;)

Use the handy "Search" feature to look for posts on breeding and raising Corys  Just search for 'breeding Corys' or something similar and you'll be reading for awhile :) InchWorm seems to be the resident Cory expert and is very helpful, too

Good luck
