Penguin Bio-Wheel 125

I just bought a penguin bio-eheel 125 at a garage sale for 5 dollars. It has been used before on freshwater. The biowheel is dried up so (i think) all bacteria in it is dead. I should still replace it right??? or could i use it in my tank?

If it's dried up, it's all dead, if it looks dirty, you may as well start with a new one. Great buy anywho. Best of luck with it.

it looks very cleam compared to my 4 other biowheels (2 in my emperor 400, and 2 in my Biowheel 330). So it will not be harmful to use?

spray it off with tap water. GTG.
