First time running such a filter. I purchased the unit used with the entire 55 gallon setup, 750$ worth of stuff for 80$ isn't a bad deal 
. One flaw I've noticed so far after picking up a penguin 200 to run on the other side of the tank is that my penguins biowheels simply don't spin.. they just sit there and water runs under them. I know I have it all put together right but it seems to still fail. Any advice on how to get this thing working smoothly?
Also what sort of filter media should I add to the baskets or whatnot? My water is perfect atm and the PH is fine I just need to know if i should add something or just leave it as is?
(Not used to heavily/seriously filtering a tank, this is a new one, and these are messy fish)
