Hi guys,

If I get one of these, is it guaranteed to clean my tank up (240L), or might it not do anything? ;)

its not an algea eater - It'll need its own diet of meatier foods ;)

Ahh :p

OK, what sort of plec (smaller, similar size to the L134) WILL eat my algae then? That's the only reason I'd be getting it really :)

there are a few - Bristle noses are great - Bulldog's also.

Other might suggest a group of Otos - but we've never had any luck with them.

I want a small pleco (<5") that will do a good job of tackling the algae in my tank (glass, rocks, substrate, plants etc.). But I also want it to look interesting and not dull like a lot of plecos can ;)

I like this one (L236). Are there any plecos that will be good for my tank that look similar to this that are readily available in the UK?

Bulldogs are a little different ;)

Aww :(

I just checked out the bulldog - I don't really like it ;)

From what I've gathered so far, the interesting ones (with stripes/spots etc.), don't really eat algae much; and the "plain" ones do?

There has to be a pleco I like out there that will be up to the job :D

Some ordinary bristlenoses have a lot of lovely spots- not to mention the tentacles on the nose! What more do you want? If these fish were rare, and priced at 200 each, people would be queuing up to buy them! Just because they're common doesn't mean they're boring.
