Pecking order and females

how long does it tank for the pecking order to settle down? We've got a 10g with four females in there. They all seem fairly chilled now apart from at feeding time when it goes abit mental!

Hmm, I think in any tank with an agressive, competative species, some tiffs around feeding time are normal. Heck my two goldfish fight at feeding time and they're supposed to be social I'd say just make sure they have plenty of cover, and space out where you drop the food as much as possible?

I wish mine were as good as yours. I've had 4 in a 25 gallon for a few months now and they are so nippy! Roxy the veiltail is the worst as she just has to be boss. She won't even just flare at another fish that swims by her, she has to go off looking for a fight

Will be adding a couple of my juvies in there within the next couple of weeks so maybe an extra few will calm things down I have lots of plants and caves in there and surprisingly feeding time is the most peaceful time in my tank

I have no problem with 4 in a 10 gal at feeding time, but it's been 2 or 3 months, and there is still the occasional nipped or torn fin.
