I've never fed peas before, and decided I would try today. My 6 veil tail boys LOVED them, and all 5 of my crowntail boys wouldn't even give them a try. They just looked at them like uhhh you expect me to eat that. My girls gobbled them up quickly, but they'd eat anything I think. Has anyone else had this coincidence happen to them? Are crowntails more picky? Or did I just find 5 that don't like peas?
My fish wouldn't touch them the first few times I tried them. Then I let them fast for a day and tried them again. Now they go crazy for them as soon as they see them. Let your crowntails fast for a day and then try them again. Once they taste them for the first time, you won't have any trouble getting them to eat them again.
Every single one of my fish, including my 2 cts just LOVE peas. They race to get them. I'd have to agree - try them a few times and mash them up pretty good. They just might not like the texture of them or something. I would bet they'll give them a try eventually and will come to LOVE them
lol, In my brief experience with Bettas, I have found them to be quite alot like little kids and food they haven't tried before. They are reluctant to eat them at first but once they taste it and like they can't get enough.
Though mine seems to go through stages, eating certain things and rejecting others. Then later switching and eating the things he was rejecting and rejecting the things he was eating.
