I just bought a 29 gallon tank. I am thinking of using 4 pearl danios to cycle, and then getting 4 more in a few weeks. Later, I will be adding 6 cory cats. How does this sound? Do peals do well in moderately hard water with a pH of 8? What schooling fish would go well with them? Could I add a few leopard danios? What about harlequin rasboras or silver tip tetras? Lastly, how big do the pearls get? More than 2 inches?

By cycle, I mean the pearls being the first fish to enter the tank, a week or so after setting up the tank.

Thank you for your help!!!!!

could i push u into thinking about a fishless cycle?
instead of it being stressful for the fish just add a ammonia source.
like...
flakes
bottled anmmonia
dead shrimps
and it mite/should be done shorter. :D

imo pearl danios arn't the greatest for cycling. platys are probably the best.

So once I set up the tank, I can just add flakes? How long should I do this for? I have considered platys, but am very concerned about overpopulation, and don't like the thought of them eating the babies!

Thanks
