Tomorrow I'll be off to my LFS to rid myself of some pesky guppies and maybe aqcurie myself some more shrimpies. I am also going there to scout out some Peacock Gudgeons. I know I've seen them there before, and they were selling them in pairs (I think) so I am going to see if they still have them, if they'll order them for me if they dont, or how expensive they are. So before I take the plunge, can anyone with expieriance give me any helpful tips, advice, or comments? Any help would be greatly appreciated  I have a 20 gallon, planted, overfiltered, 7.6ph, 78 degrees farenheit. :good:

what will you keep in the tank with them? They aren't great with fast tank mates as they can miss out on the food.

They like caves/tunnels to rest in.

Do get to a fair size, so check that your shrimp wont become food.

My stock is in my sig, i will be ridding myself of the guppies and oto and also upping my loaches to 4. I will feed them the way I feed my shy gouramis, distract the tetras with some food and then feed them, or get a turkey baster and hand feed 'em  I have caves in the tank, and i have a PVP pipe project i've been thinking about :shifty:
My cherries are a decent size, and the crystal shrimp hides all day anyway. I've researched that they only eat shrimplets, and since all my cherries are female, that doesn't bother me anywho
And a quote from this link
Tank Mates: Fellow good mixers include dwarf gouramis, sparkling gouramis, honey gouramis, white clouds, featherfin rainbows, kuhli loaches, glassfish, killifish, otocinclus, red cherry shrimp, ghost shrimp, and other mini-fishes.

sorry I have signatures turned off so didn't see it

3 Male Guppies, 9 Pink Jewel Tetras, 2 Sparkling Gourami, 1 Oto, 2 Kuhli Loaches, 5 Cherry Shrimp, 2 Amano Shrimp, 1 Red Crystal Shrimp

Crossfire, your water is perfect for them. As far as being non aggressive feeders, mine never come to the surface, but they will compete with my tetras for food no problem. They do like plants and caves. A lot of people confuse the peacocks with morgunda, which get larger about 4", compared to 2" for the peacock. They have pretty small mouths and seem to like smaller foods (brine shrimp vs. bloodworms).

Oh that's great! I feed my fish NLS, freeze-dried brineshrimp, and bloodworms  Thanks turtle, if my LFS has them, i'll be sure to show pics :good:
