I'd like to get some of these little guys, but I have no info on them. Whats the minimum tank size? What is their diet? They pretty small and I'd like to get a 20g and put some in, but, I'm not sure if it would work out. Thanks.

They get around 2 inches, and you could happily keep 6 in a 20g long tank :) Just be sure to have plenty of hiding spots and small caves. ( small caves are used for spawning) You could easily keep a few cories or otos with them to keep the tank clean :) They won't usually accept flake food either, so freeze dried bloodworms would be best, as well as live brine on occasion :)

Would they like Frozen Bloodworms? I have freeze-dried, but would they enjoy the softer Frozen bloodworms? I'll probably order 3 and then buy 3 more later on.

A 20gal would be good , 6 would be very happy in it .

The males like to hide out a little , the females are more social , mine are any way.

If you get both sexes they will breed  , the male looks after the eggs , when they hatch he will promptly eat the fry . Mine have many times .
I haven't made a serious attempt to try and raise any fry yet .

As for the frozen food , I don't know , I haven't offered any to them .[ They'd probably eat it ]

So far they have eaten live brine shrimp , live mosquito larva , freeze dried brine shrimp , freeze dried blood worms , freeze dried daphnia and crushed freeze dried krill .

They never touched any kind of prepared foods flakes , pellets , none of it  .

They like the water wet  , easy to care for as far as water chemistry, they like the water pretty clean though , if you are good with regular maintenance you shouldn't have any problems .

They can be a little nippy .

They love plants , caves , rocks and things like that .

Good luck , it took me a while to find them , look for them with rainbow fish , that's where I found mine .

Are peacock gudgeons the same as peacock gobies? If they are, they eat frozen bloodworm and daphnia with relish. And they get big and FAT quickly!!! Mine were teeny and shy 6 weeks ago, now they are over 1", fat and bolshy! Haven't seen any signs of aggression, but the Badis badis do have chewed tails - don;t know if it's the dwarf gourami, the apistos or the peacocks.

Yes they are .

My badis females have chewed tales , mostly from my male gudgeons [ I've seen them do it ], but no they aren't real aggressive , just a little nippy  .

When I got mine in June they were about 3/4s of an inch , now they are more than twice that , and just about full grown .

They do eat like pigs  esp my females , they almost look as if they've swollowed a pea after a live brine shrimp feeding

Yeah, they look cute, long body with a bit round bulge in the middle for a full belly! Mine seem to have survived my newbie-ness very well. They are inquisitive, colourful, interesting fish, and I'd recommend them!

Gudgeons arnt aggressive whoaaaaaa.
For out i would love to see a peaceful gudgeon.
My gudgeon is so big now it has teeth, and likes to bite holes out of new comer fish i put in there.
So far he has killed, bout 30 bristlenose, 1 red oscar, 1 albino oscar, 1 long clawed fw shrimp (which was twice the size of him) and a Lace catfish which was also twice the size of him.
Maybe he has some anger ishues, but i still love him :)
I will get you a pic of him when my dad comes back on tues.

(sorry for high jacking)

peacock gudgeons are much smaller than mogurnda gudgeons.
They grow to between 1 1/2 and 2 " . They can be Territorial , but aggression isn't fatal IME  for the most part they eat and breed :dunno: .

I have 5 , the only things they kill are brine shrimp , and other small live food .

My son [ aka dwarfs ]has a purple spotted gudgeon , mogurnda mogurnda ,Is this what you have ? they grow to about 7 " and are more then capable of taking care of themselves against most other fish .
But his is pretty good though , it lives with cichlids , bichirs , a rope fish and pictus cats .

Maybe you have a Jade goby ? they look similar to mogurndas , but I think they get bigger .

How big is your gudgeon now ?

Please post a picture , that would be good .

Sometimes it's just a case of the individual fish , like you said , maybe he has anger issues
