I have had my peacock eel for 3 weeks now, and he now comes out during the day, but i still have never seen him eat. I have ghost shrimp in their, along with shrimp pellets i drop in for my cory cats. Can anyone help me. Will they eat shrimp pellets or ghost shrimp. OR do i need to get something else for him to eat

The best foods for eels when small are worm type foods such as bloodworm, tubifix and blackworms, eels very rarely take prepared foods like pellets or flake.

:kana: From my experience with eels most eat ghostshrimp, as well as roses and comet's, mine has eatten a 6 inch needlefish,I have a 23inch marble eel, and my dad has a peacock eel and they both eat the same......just make sure you don't introduce the feederfish directly into the tank, if you have a spare tank quaratine them and before you buy any check out the tanks in the store and try to buy them from the same store. They eat alot when they are hungry, but I feed him every 3 days....try that and let me know how he dose.......
