i am new to the fish world and im wondering what are some peacful cichlids that arent agressive and can co exist with other fish

Depending on tank size/other inhabitants theres a few that can be put in community tanks eg. rams (as mentioned above), keyholes, apisto's. Breeding will increase aggression though.

Considered peaceful for cichlids are, German Blue rams, bolivian rams, keyholes, apistogrammas, these are the smaller variety of cichlids, as you start to go into the larger varities, angels, acaras, geos, terrors, severums, oscars (to name a very few) they more aggressive they become.

Its hard to recommend which would be best with other fish, without knowing what other fish we are talking about, however the smaller variety I mentioned are considered peaceful enough to co-exist with a wide range of 'community' fish. Tank size is also dependent on the level of aggressive some fish will display, obviously the larger the tank the more choice you have and the less aggressive some of these fish will show as they have more area to call their own.

I don't know about green terrors....Lots of conflicting info....But I think Red Terrors are definantly aggresive

Gee....I want a green terror now...LOL

Terrors are peaseful?

I think minx was trying to say that in general, the smaller species tend to be far more peaceful than the larger species such as Oscars, GTs etc.

I have a pair of german blue rams and a young pair of cockatoos in my 74L community tank. I will soon be transferring all to my new 250L tank. Do you think there are any other cichlids I could add without causing warfare?

Angels or Keyholes should be ok, provided the tank has plenty of cover and a number of suitable areas to build territories around
