I just wanted to share how I managed to restore peace among my fish in my new set up 20g tank.
I have been skulking the forum since setting up and following the soo helpful advice.. My actions were based on advice in the forum.
I started, once cycled and began with 3 guppies 1male 2 female and later added 3 emporer tetras unfortunately i was sold 2 males and 1 female. I only took 3 so as not to overload too early. The younger male turned out to be a super busy body bully and the older male was suffering, lost all his colour and swimming very badly. I put the bullied male into my sons established tank to recover and yesterday got 2 more females and 10 tiny CPD, moved some of the fake plants around and added a bubble pole. I put the new fish all in together and moved the bullied back too, so pleased as they are all now getting along famously! The bullied guy is already getting his colour back and is happily interacting with the others, the E. tetras don't seem to shoal at all.
I am amazed with the CPD as I expected them to be shy and hide in the plants but they are all shoaling in the open space all of the time! They really are a lovely species.
My final additions I am hoping in a few weeks will be Clown Killifish hopefully 10,, does anyone think that is a good community or not, also I have done my stocking calcs and think this should not overload but appreciate any advice on this?
