Does anyone know were I can get plecos from online in the UK other than ebay?

I've been looking at a Clown Pleco as they don't grow big, also i'd need a site that delivers.

Thanks :)

Thanks for that :)

I'm part way through the pleco list and so far i'm thinking about L104 and L002, any recomendations?

My tank is 58litre, and I don't want something that would have any chance of having it's growth stunted.

EDIT : Finished browsing their stock and it's come down to L104 L002 L052 L134 L183 L260 or a few Dwarf Suckers :)

If you can run to it - get a few (3-5)
They are quite in demand if you get them to breed ;)
(I'll have some for a start :D)

It is however worth a call to check they are 183 - I've not managed to find any true ones over the past couple of years (but i've not tried mail order)

They may very well be L182's like ours without the white seams
Thread about ours here

ok Planet catfish have just updated the L182 entry... ours arnt L182s... either that or they have a lot of growing to do :)

So whether it's L183 or L182 i'm not in danger of any growing too big for my tank am i?

It's a 58 litre and I think it's about 26" long.

Do I need any specific things for my tank if they want to breed like a small pipe and for a start what would be a good male to female ratio for my size tank?

Also i've been wondering this for a while now, what kind of plec is that in your sig smithrc?

Thanks :)

breeding them seems to be quite easy.... keeping the young going is not so easy... we getting 1-2 dead a day... its always the small ones... we sat and watched them yesterday and the fry are really aggressive towards each other when feeding.

ours have used a homemade slate cave every time they have spawned - leaving the tubes alone light hte plague.

Planet catfish have just changed the description of L182's to say that they get to 10"... so thats not what we've got.

as for the plec in the sig - Thats Mr Catfish - our oldest plec - Pretty sure its a common cross. ;)

Warning about Trimar. They keep their plecos in soft water conditions. If your tap water has a high ph then acclimatising takes a good long time and even then the young plecos may find the stress too much. :( Just something worth bearing in mind.

P.

I'm heading out to Pier Aquatics tomorrow, i'll let you know what I bring back, I'm hoping to bring back a starlight bristlenose plec.

Also would this be happy with an embarrisingly large supply of brown spot algae?

I was told I had bought an Ancistrus which could grow upto 12" although it is young it is starting to look more like an L183 than a L182, I'll post picutres later.

I was amazed at the amount of Blue Arrowanas that they had anyone who lives near Wigan should definatly try this place :)
