hello, newbie here. I've tried searching but came up with nothing. :)

Our cat Patches was given to my mom and family by my oldest sister who was going overseas and couldn't take the poor kitty with her. Well, Patches has stayed with us since she was 1 and a half, she is now going on to 5 and is a part of the family :) There's no way my sister is getting her back now! lol

One thing about this cat that I have never experienced with any of my others is that at night she constantly [and I mean CONSTANTLY] meows and scratches on everything. She's done this over the past 3 or 4 years and we have no idea what she wants!
We tried getting up and getting her food and water, but she just goes back to scratching and meowing. We tried to leave all our doors open so she could go as she pleases but she then she'll scratch on the window sill. We've tried putting her in her kennel at night, but she is not too fond of small spaces and freaks. We've also tried to put her on her leash at night and that helped a little, but that didn't resolve the meowing.
It's driving my family mad. We're not going to get rid of her, obviously, she's too much apart of the family now, but we have no idea what to do next.

so my question is, has anybody on here had a cat that does this? and what did you do to resolve it?

many, many thanks.

have you spoken to your vet about this matter,
perhaps they can refer you to an animal behavior specialist.

you may also find more help on crafty cat
which specialises in cat behaviour and psychology :good:

Has she been speyed? Is she an indoor cat?

No I haven't spoken to her vet about it, it seems everytime I go in there we blabble on about other things and I always forget about it ^_^ she needs her shots for this year though so here's hoping I'll remember lol! :good:

no I haven't tried this site, thanks for posting it!

yeah, she is spayed and is almost never allowed out (we have ticks over here that can give her a incurable disease. So we try to keep them inside)
