Password Recovery Has Been Requested, But Not By Me.

Has anyone else had one of these emails? It states "You have received this email because a user account password recovery was instigated by you on Tropical Fish Forums".

I certainly haven't asked for this. So is someone playing the fool? Does anyone know if the mods will be able to find the IP address of the person responsible. Maybe the info will be in the forum's log files. If I can find their IP address they'll wish they hadn't been born.

I haven't had anything like that and my internet is monitored by the federal police. The mods or owners of the site should be able to follow the trail and work out why you got it. If not borrow my copper mates (who follow me everywhere) and get them to investigate it.

I've never received anything like that. I'm not certain whether anyone can find the IP Address or not. That is probably something that William would have to do. I don't know that I have ever tried to retrieve my password but I will try and see if I get the same email. Will post back with the results.

Edit: I tried it and got the same email so that is the norm just so someone else can't change your password. I also did a search and there is another relatively member, tigermoth2. They joined in January and haven't been active since the day they joined. It's quite possible they forgot their ID had the 2 on the end and was trying to log in using your ID since they are so close. Since their password wasn't working, they requested a reset. Obviously, this is just a theory but it would seem to make sense. I will see what i can find out. Let me know if you get it again.
