I just bought two bps and a jd for my 55usg and the bps look very stressec..today is day two and they hide in the corner laying on their bellies. Stats are 0ppm everythng because I transfered filter media. I'm keeping an eye out for ammonia spikes twice daily and there's been no threat of it yet. My raphael cat and eel are doing fine. Do bps take a while to start feeling comfortable? Thanks everyone...any tips are welcome

Depending on how big the fish are will determine on how much they stress. Bigger fish will stress more than small fish. Also if the tank doesn't have a lot of cover (rocks, wood, etc) then the fish will feel less secure and try to hide more. Having a backing on the tank will help them feel more secure too. Don't offer them too much food because if it doesn't get eaten then it will cause water quality issues. They should settle down in a few days.

Thanks colin! One is small and one is medium..they have plenty of cover and a background. I haven't tried feeding and won't until they come out. I feel relieved by your post and will just have to wait for them to feel comfortable

im no fish expert but id image being moved like that when they have no control or understanding of the situation would be stressful and animals like fish are easily "worried" i wouldnt stress over it im sure they'll come out in a few days after getting used to the new suroundings
