Hello,

this may be a stupid question but i dont know the answer. Do diffrent types of parrot fish (i.e king kong, blood red, ect.) differ in size? what is the smallest type of parrot fish? i heard that jellybean parrots are the smallest, and only get upto 3-4 inches is this true?

yeah might b, do you think i could get a jellybean parrot fish in my tank since they only grow like 6in or less?i heard on a couple sites they grow 3-4 inches and can be kept in a 30 gal.

if theire brightly coloured there dwarf because of the dye...
my bloodparrots are different in size. i have a small 5" female. a larger 7" female and a big 8.5" male.
i think it differs alot with this fish but for the smallest one iwould definetely go for the jellybean :)

Alright I don't know about all this "dwarf Jellybean" stuff but I've kept Jellybeans (convict X blood parrot) for several years. I've had probably 6 to adult size. Not one of them ever got past 4". The females always max out at closer to 2"-3". This is the same for those I've bought and those I've bred. A word of warning: Frequently the dyed Blood Parrots are sold under the name of Jellybean. If it looks like a Blood it probably is. HTH :D
