Parrot Fish Sizes

Hello,

this may be a stupid question but i dont know the answer. Do diffrent types of parrot fish (i.e king kong, blood red, ect.) differ in size? what is the smallest type of parrot fish? i heard that jellybean parrots are the smallest, and only get upto 3-4 inches is this true?

i think the kk parrot is bigger than a normal one
normal bp should be smaller
they say a bp can be 8"

Jellybeans shouldn't get any bigger then about 6''.

ok found a site selling dwarf jellybean parrots, they say they only grow upto 1.5-2 inches, are these common? or rare?

I've never heard of dwarf jellybean parrots.. sounds like bs to me.

yeah might b, do you think i could get a jellybean parrot fish in my tank since they only grow like 6in or less?i heard on a couple sites they grow 3-4 inches and can be kept in a 30 gal.

if theire brightly coloured there dwarf because of the dye...
my bloodparrots are different in size. i have a small 5" female. a larger 7" female and a big 8.5" male.
i think it differs alot with this fish but for the smallest one iwould definetely go for the jellybean

why dont they have any jellybeans around southern california?
iv been to hundreds of shops and i havent seen any

Alright I don't know about all this "dwarf Jellybean" stuff but I've kept Jellybeans (convict X blood parrot) for several years. I've had probably 6 to adult size. Not one of them ever got past 4". The females always max out at closer to 2"-3". This is the same for those I've bought and those I've bred. A word of warning: Frequently the dyed Blood Parrots are sold under the name of Jellybean. If it looks like a Blood it probably is. HTH
