HE lets the Bettas out of the Baracks so that they can all swim together.




















This Morning Bubba Has Lots of Nips and tears in his fins and has a large hole in his Tail - Have removed him and treated him. He is receovering in a large vase under the Table Lamp.

Marbles has not been touched - So he has gone back into the Barracks.


Bleu Has not been touched - So he is in the Barracks.


Granny Smith - He was in the tank already and seems Full Of Himself all Puffed up. So I Guess he is the that fought Bubba. BTW Granny Smith is A monster of a Betta well Over 3" now and His Tail Looks Alot Better now and his colors are richer. HE the DT Veil Tail I found @ A5 in Nuneaton.


Mello Yellow -- He has had a few nips but otherwise OK, so will leave him where he is, Happy in the Large Plants at the Back of the Tank.






Will have to explain to dad why they cannot all live int he tank, as Bubba and Granny Don't Get on.


Also Because of this have lost the Large Sword, He was very badly bitten by them. His tail was Intact but he had lots of wounds.

He Did to get back at me, as he bought me the angels that I did not want, and I Exchanged them for fish that I wanted to Keep.

He was In the Office watching TV all Shift and I had to go in and rescue him, as he crashed the Scheduling PC.

A lot of people (especially parents) think they know everything about everything including fish when they really aren't as smart as they think they are. Did he knowingly mix fish that don't get along or was it a matter of mistakenly thinking "Oh, those fish look like they want to play together" (I have heard about people thinking that bettas just want a little fun together!)

If he is knowingly trying to hurt or kill the fish just to get back at you then something is definately wrong. If he did that to any other animal it would be considered animal abuse. I know there is a lot of stress working late shifts (I have worked enough of them to know how frustrating it can get) but that is no excuse for animal abuse. Its also bad parenting. A parent is suppose to set a good example for their children. He should be supportive of the responsibility that you show towards keeping and maintaining these animals.

what makes me mad is that I try not to spend that much money on the fish and will always try to do something myself.

I will find a Good LFS and build up a relationship with them so that I can get deals on fish and, Will go out of town so that when I want an Expensive Fish like My ABF + Guorami's I don't have to spend so much Money.


I Still have to put up with the Red Eye Tetras that he dumped in the Tank. They are getting bigger and they are getting more and more aggressive towards all the larger fish. They Harrie the other like a pod.
I will Happily give them away, but I simply cannot Catch them, as I cannot bend over for the amount of time it would take to catch them. Due to my Athritis and Sciatica.

He won't even help with water changes. My Mum will help as much as she can, but she is retires and also suffers from Athritis.

Doing a Water Change will often take me an hour as I have to rest @ Intervals.




AND the Worst bit is I was Happy with my 15L Tank, and he was the one who talked the Garden Centre - WORLD OF WATER. Into giving me thw whole setup for £50.00.

He made me Pack away The 15 Litre, I could trun it into a proper betta tank as it has a mirrored background and integral light. And I have a 10 Litres tank that i was using to house the WMC in over winter. That has been packed away as well.





Can't wait to buy another house, and them I can Keep As Many Tanks As I want.
I will have A few Tanks along 1 side of the room with different types of fish.

Betta Tanks - Prob a Long 4ft spit up to allow many Bettas.

And a Tank with BBGobies as they are very Cool.

Finally Someone who knows about A5 aswell.

Yeah, I have been going to A5 for over 6years, Stocked my ponds with fish from there. Bought all my Orandas And Ryunkins for the ponds from there. I have never had much luck with Koi from A5.
His White Mountain Clouds and Danios, are always good quality and they last outdoors. When he gets Cold water Plecs I would always get some for the pond, Never saw them again as pond too deep.

I Like their Marine Setups and although small very nice.

I never knew he sold Bettas untill I spotted the Emerald Gold DT in there, He had a Chocolate VT and White/Opaque VT.

Theryhave a good range of tropical fish, but don't get very many oddballs.
The old guy with short hair did not like that there were rainbow parrots there when i went in, although he said they sell very well. Would Never Buythem myself.

just finished making new plants to make beds of flowers, and he has a go at me for getting more plants. COULD NOT be bothered to explain that i have spent the last 2 hours making them from receycling old dispalys from around the house.

I haven't seen my dad in three years and I'm glad because he would probably do something like that... that's where my brother gets it from!

I have to deal with this sort fo thing from my brother so I sympathize with you here. I hope it gets better. I hate when people take it out on the animals when they didn't do anything just to get at you. Maybe you can just ignore it and if act like you don't care and he'll stop if he knows it doesn't bother you.

The Thing Is it Upsets Everyone Else.

Mum Gets Upset when a Fish Dies as she Is retired she is spending more time @ home and has dropped a half the week from her rota. So she likes to sit an watch the fish, She Likes the way I like to Change stuff as she knows it makes the fish Happy as they get New things to explore. She always comments on what the fish have been doing during the day. She likes the Gourami's the Best and Calls the Dwarf Neon "Little Blue".
She Squirms when the Kuhlis come out as they remind her of Worms.
So when dad Did this it upset her as she Really Liked the Large Male sword as well and would always comment about him trying to "court" the Dwarf Neon Gourami. And she loved his tail as they were both small when i got them and there tails have developed really well, without any nips from any fish.

My Wife likes to watch the fish and she likes all the fish and likes the CGAE the Best as they are the Biggest Fish I have After the Gold Gourami who has Grown By a 1/3 Since getting Him.


Spoken with Mum Now, and she Says I can set up the 15Litre in here(PC Room) so that DAD can't mess about with the Bettas. He never comes in here.

I don't get fish from A5 Aquatics much these days, I buy accessories from there now. I found other sources for fish

I did however acquire my beloved African Clawed Frog from A5...

My old man was like that. But he would never try and hurt the fish. But does have a go at me for buying new goodies. Its because one of his m8 gave me the tank. So in a way he reckons its still his.

He kept over feeding them when i was at work. He would dump a load of food when people come round so they can see the fish

I had a small tank with over 200 jewel fry. About 1/2" big. He over fed them and killed the lot.

So after a load of nagging of him, i took out 500 quid cash. Gave him this pile of money and told him the tank and everything associated with it is MINE. DO NOT TOUCH IT ANY MORE!!! He didnt take the money but got the message.

6 months down the line i have been noticing full fishy bellies because he's up to his old tricks

And for some reason my mum calls all my fish 'she' or 'her' I got a dirty great big crabro and if he had a beard as big as bin laden, my mum would still call him a 'she'
