Parasites?

I have loads of little white specks on the glass of my tank. They are so small that they don't really have a shape to describe. At first I thought it was hair algae but then I noticed that these things were swimming along the glass. Is this a parasite and if so how do I get rid of them?

They're probably just pods of some sort - amphipods/copepods... If that's the case, they are beneficial for the tank
