Well, I'm not a "beginner" necessarily, and my betta has already died 
so this isn't truly an "emergency" but this is the only place I could think of to post this... I just set up a 10 gallon heavily planted tank and decided that it would be nice to put some of the plants in with my betta in his 2.5 gallon tank. Unfortunately, I did not dip the plants in anything (anti-parasitic, etc.) between the LFS and putting them into the tank. So, now I am pretty sure my betta died from a parasite off of the plants I put in his tank. 
I moved him to the 10 gallon when he started acting lethargic, and when he died, there were these nasty little buggers on a rock next to him. (Parasites, I am pretty sure.) Not only do I feel like a failure of a fish owner, but now I have to figure out how to get rid of the parasites in the 10 gallon without killing all the plants, snails, and beneficial bacteria. Any recommendations for medication?
