I've got a pair of red Paradise fish and one was being bullied by the other quite badly, I posted in the fish emergencies section, but for the time being I've put the bullied fish in a makeshift fry trap, so hopefully the emergency has been averted, albeit temporarily as I don't want to leave it in there forever.

So my first question is, should I get more paradise fish, to calm things down a bit?

Second question is, if I did get more paradise fish, is it vitally important to get more females than males? And thirdly, if it is how do I sex them?

Tank 36"x12"x15"
13 danio's
4 american flag fish
2 bristlenose
2 paradise fish
1 shubunkin (currently trying to re-home)

tank temp 21 degrees C.

take the weaker one back to the store, paradise fish like a lot of gouramis are better off alone.

males are way more colorful than females by the way, if that helps
