Paradise Fish Problem

Hi,
I'm new on this website and was looking for an answer to a problem I always have with my female paradise fish. I keep it at the office and once in a while her upper lip extends(as when she gets some air) but the upper lip gets stuck. There she is with her lip extended out and I can tell it bothers or hurts even. She literally shakes her head, swims weird, gulps more air etc. until it goes back right. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen this in any fish. I can't imagine there is anything I can do. Your comments?

Nope... I've kept and bred many Paradise (IMO) one of the easiest anabantoids to breed, however... I've never seen anything like you describe...Could be a defect that this one was born with.... (Also - IMO - your Paradise is your most aggressive Anabantoids) - They are a fish with an attitude, but I love them.
