I have but I wouldn't reccomend it in most tanks. It realy depends on what size tank you are thinking about putting them together in, which was in first, the number of each and the other tankmates. Also, if you keep them both together, you need to make sure they can both have clear-cut territories in different areas in the tank to reduce any conflict. Luckily, pearl gouramies tend to preffer a territory in the upper layers so some floating plants usualy solve the problem. The paradise fish don't realy care but a well-planted tank or one with lots of hiding places suits them well. Another good thing is that the paradise fish stay smaller than the pearls but pearls are more peaceful - so it generaly balances out in a good-sized tank where they have space to establish permanent territories. It is best to have the pearls first and let them grow out a bit. Don't try keeping them together anything less than a 30 gallon if you've never owned paradise fish before or don't have anywhere to put the fish if they do start fighting.
