I think I have one of these two problems
and I am leaning towards the second one.
I'm just looking for comfirmation on this.

Two fish different species of danio both have a fluffy growth of white stuff
on their lips. There are no other marks or anything else wrong with them.
Their behaviour at this time is totally normal and they are eating.
I think it is.....

A; Papillomas, 'warty' types of growths, can be quite large, smooth or cauliflower-shaped, white, red or pink

B; Fungus, appears as grey/white patches on the skin or gills that resemble tufts of cotton-wool.

both descriptions fit this stuff on the lips but I really think it's fungus. I don't have any treatment for fungus now (7:15 pm) will get in morning, and Papillomas are untreatable, I think.
any way your opinions are required.

U ever seen a wart? It ain't fluffy. What you got is mouth fungus. Salt is the best treatment for fugus if the fish can handle it. I think danios can.

Mouth "fungus" (aka cotton motuh, cotton-wool, etc) is usually caused by a bacterium, Flexibacter columnaris.

I would try raising the temp. of your tank and adding salt (which in my experience my danio is fine with).

You might also have to medicate...how bad is it?

Also, how are the pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels in your tank? Has something upset the balance in your tank or caused stress to yuor fish? Danios are typically pretty hearty...

Good luck!

ok first of I have taken one of the danios (f4 hybrid) to my lfs along with water sample and this is the results.
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
ph 7.5

Its fungus (no doubt about it )and I have brought some treatment for it.
I hope that this will be the end of the matter :)

I would do the salt treatment first. Saltworks great!!!
