hi have a group of 4 panda corys in my 60litre are community tank. they are in there with my guppys and tetras and cherry shrimps this just has a i think 600 litre an hour internal filter in it. i was shocked to notice the otherday that i had around 30 eggs stuck to 2 seperate corners of the tank and also noticed alot on plants and also on the floor. the eggs are yellow in colour and none seem to have been eaten at all, i would say in total there are around 60 eggs scattered alloevr the tank. my questions are will these egg hatch? they have been there know for 2 days. iv noticed that that the eggs seem to be shrinking abit. do you think they are infertile? i only have 1 other tank but that has around 100 cherry shrimps in it and that just has a trickle filter hanging on the side.
thanks liam

if they turn white, they are normally infertile, otherwise yes, good chance of fry. but then the fry might also be chomped on too.

still a yellow colour when will i no if they have hatched do you think? hopefully a few might survive got plenty of plants and java moss will just be happy if 2 survive but definetly going to get some more tanks and breed a few groups as i love to watch them and even better bonus with them breeding

Panda eggs are not yellow, they're white/creamy colour and quite large compared to other cory eggs... and go dark beige colour to near black by the 5th day when they're due to hatch.
Also corys don't lay eggs on the floor..

Can you get a pic up of the eggs? - makes me wonder if its shrimp eggs?

They are still a yellowish colour just looked today and they seem to have lais more on another 1 of the corners near the heater none of the eggs have got darker yet how long doesit take for the eggs to hatch?

this is the best picture i could get with my phone

Hi liamb :)

Here are some C. panda eggs in various stages of development. The newest ones are on the right and the oldest ones are on the left.
