Erm can Weitzmani mix with endlers and malayan shrimps???
Do they mate easily?
Are they suppose to be in a school???
Will they be happy in a 30x20x20 tank??

I don't know the answers but you might want to include units in those tank dimensions, inches or cms.

Most cories should be in groups of 4-6+ ideally.

they should be fine.
you can get quite a few more.
you can have around 40" of fully grown fish(including existing fish).
so around 20" left.

Hi raeburter :)

I'm a little confused by the title of this thread. C. panda and C. weitzmani are two completely different species.

Did you mean C. panda:

Or C. weitzmani:

If you could keep the water temperature around 75 degrees F. (or a little lower) they would both work out well with the endlers.

I wouldn't recommend keeping less than three of any kind of cory, and a bigger school is even better. You will see the difference in their personalities and activity.

Hi raeburter :)

I don't know about that particular kind of shrimp, but I do know that some kind of shrimp will attack fish. If the ones you have in mind don't, they should get along with the corys just fine. It might be a good idea to ask about them in the Invertebrates and Amphibians section. Perhaps someone else can give you better information about them.

From my own experience, I've found that the weitzmanis are much more sturdy fish than the pandas. For some reason the pandas are delicate and frequently get sick much more easily than other corys. Often, if the water conditions are less than ideal, they die before a problem is even noticed. I think they do best in a single species tank.

I see you are from Singapore. I've heard that corys are a very popular fish there and that there are a wide variety of species available at reasonable prices. Have you found this to be true?

YES! my lfs has a lot of orange lasers!!!and a lot of panda and albino cories..the other lfs near my house has many breeds of cory. and most of them are less then 7 american dollars...if u go to fish farms and buy like 10 pieces of it they reduce the price to like 4 american bucks each!!singapore rox..haha. I just got my panda cories, they arent eating the sunken flakes and blood worms as i tot they were omnivores and i dunno how to sex them could u help me here are the pics url..they are kinda blur

Both of them

No.1

no.2

Top view of both
Arent they cute???

one more Q what sand is suitable for the cory cause now my pandas has no substrate and they are onli hanging out at my drift wood and plants..

Hi raeburter :)

It looks like you might have a pair of pandas there. If you take a look at them from the top, they should look like this:

Do you see the difference in their shape?

Ordinary play sand from a home improvement store is the least expensive substrate you can find. It's round and smooth, but needs a lot of rinsing under running water to clean it. I use it in all my sand bottomed tanks. There are also other, more expensive, sands available in the lfs. As long as there are no sharp edges to the grains, your corys will enjoy having it under them.

Have your pandas started eating yet?

Hi raeburter :)

Try looking for "play sand" in a home improvement store or lumber yard. It works well and is very inexpensive. I pay less than $3 for a 50 pound bag. This is the kind of sand that is used in sandboxes for toddlers to play in, so it's safe for the delicate barbells of the corys.

The only bad part is that it takes a lot of work to thoroughly rinse the fine silt out of it, but once that's done it makes a great substrate for fish tanks. :D

I have a thought to trigger spawning in a couple of months or so and do i need sand for spawning???and will a 5 US Gallon Tank enough for 1 trio?Currently i have 2. should i get 1 more panda to keep each other company but im scared that my malayan shrimps and endlers would compete with them for food..
