hi

I've been thinking about setting up a Palidarium, and was wondering what I could keep in there that is readily available and cheap, I've thought about fire bellied newts, but is there anything I can keep with them?

Other thoughts I've had a dwarf aquatic frogs.

Any ideas?

how about red claw crabs, hermit crabs in the land part, dart frogs,

You can keep shrimp with newts.

I kept shrimp and newts together; the newts didn't seem so impressed about it so I moved the shrimp out.

I had a shrimp and a newt in the same food bowl eating the same bloodworms - I had no casualties.

10g is the min for dart frogs i was just looking on the killi section and bigc said hes going to keep dart frogs and killis together might be worth a look. you could have fire bellied newts and toads.

now now, i dont think responding to truck's immaturity with more immaturity will help solve anything.

@truck- what size tank do you plan on using for your paludarium? it will greatly affect your options, i am using a 29 gallon for a paludarium, but i will only have about 8 gallons of water in the water side, and about 1.5 sq ft of room on the air side and only 6 inches tall too.

obviously if you have a 5 gallon aquarium as your paludarium and you get approximatly a quarter of the size filled with water, and very little land space, there isnt very many possibilities.

also, fire bellied newts require low(ish) tempuratures compared to more tropical animals, which is another consideration.
