Pakistani Loach

Hi,

I got 2 Pakistani loaches not so long ago. They are doing fine.

I am thinking about planting my tank.....will they be ok in a planted tank? I have been trying to read up on it, but cant see anything much, other than a couple posts saying that the odd person has had plants eaten....

Mine never bothers the plants, mine do like to bully the other fish though.

mine are not so bad with the others....there is a bit of bullying at dinner time, but nothing to bad.

Eating plants? Very unlikely.

But uprooting plants is quite within their habits.

I've never seen my 3 show any interest in the plant life in their tank (or now the old bath tub they are living in..long story) unless they were hunting snails and other live insect type life forms that might be hidden in the weed. They probably will manage to dislodge any plants that aren't firmly rooted in the substrate but again mine haven't been a problem. Now pleco or bristle nose in the tank and then you'll see destruction
