Hello

What type of paint works best on painting a background. I have a 120 gallon tank that will house an oscar for the time being and wanted to paint the back either black or dark blue. I wasnt sure if I should spray paint or use a roller with a type of acrylic paint? Any advice would greatly be appreciated. :blink:

I always paint the back, and sometimes the sides black with 2 coats of blackboard paint.

>>> through the glass?

Glass is incredibly impermeable. No.

*** EDIT ***

You do realise it is the outside of the tank I am painting don't you?

do you actually paint on the outside of the glass? thats what i meant. or are you painting on something and just attaching that to the tank................. i was always lead to believe that chemicals COULD leach through the glass an into the water (why you don't use glass cleaners to wipe down the outside of the tank and such).

I got a piece of plexi glass and cut it to size and spray painted it that way if I want to change for some reason I can just take it off. :blink:
