Hey everyone :)

Setting up a new FW tank this weekend and i want to paint the background black. I'm just wondering what type of paint i'll need as i want to get it right first time.

I wasn't sure whether i'd use enamel, flat matt or water based stuff?

Last thing is, which gives the best finish, sprayed on or painted on?

Thanks alot

The best stuff is to use "tile paint" designed for kitchens and bathrooms, of course paint the external side.

Your local DIY store should have the right stuff, It forms almost a plastic coating over the tank and if in the future you get broed with the clour you can just peel it off.

No worries. Enjoy choosing and post some pics when you have done it. Make sure to give it at least three coats. Depending on how bright your tank is you might be able to see slightly different shades.
