Howdy folks, just wondering what the preferred method for painting a tank back, black, would be? Spray paint, brush, roller etc. What kind of paint?

Thanks for any help, I'm sure someone has done it here!

I used black gloss non drip on mine, i painted it 3 days before setup though.

paint brush and paint. :hyper:
haha no joking but i just used black gloss about 5 coats with a light inside the tank so i could see any weak spots.

I did one of mine as above, but remember that once on, that paint is easy to scratch. so take care while handling :good:

thanks all for your help :good: I'll probably go with spray paint and see how that goes before anything else.

just be sure to cover up the other sides of the tank incase you miss

2-3 coats of blackboard paint is what I use.

Black exterior gloss paint, painted on with a brush on one tank, and black spray paint on the other... both still look spot on 2 years down the line :D

I just use any old tat laying around the shed.... brush one coat one way, then a second at 90 degrees to the first - looks a dogs dinner from the back, but smooth as you like from the front.
This is outside the tank, and never over the silicone !
