I just brought a 60l tank (as my 40l cracked and went everywhere yesterday ) it didn't come with a stand, however i can get an Elite 60 stand cheap but its silver and the tank is black

would it be possible to paint the stand black? whats the best paint?

They do, do black 60 Elite stands you know? I have seen a few shops with them in stock.

Edit: I think I just found it for you although my "Link URL" button doesn't work for some reason , of course I don't know how cheap you mean cheap is. If not you can try eBay, I just saw a full Elite setup + stand go for £25 yesterday I was about to pounce on it.

Heh, Just have a price in mind what you will pay and then wait till the last second to bid as usual. I get frustrated when I go way over what I intended to buy and probably should of spent a little more for a brand new tank!

thats the plan, if that stupid tank didnt break i wouldn't even need it

Same situation I am in, although I bought a quick replacement tank to fit the stand I currently have although the tank is too small at around 25L replacing the 40L it held. I intend to get a Elite 60 + the Marina Style 60 Stand as that has a cupboard :hyper: possibly big enough to fit my Fluval 205 filter in.

If you prepare the surface, almost any stand could be painted. Do not paint anything in the same room as you have your fish. The paint will need to dry much longer than it will say on the paint can because the weight of the tank will make the tank stick to freshly dried paint. When a paint manufacturer says their paint dries in x amount of time, they are talking about not getting it on you if you accidentally touch the surface. They are not talking about applying the weight of several cubic feet of water to a freshly dried surface. That pressure can actually force the tank trim down into the paint layer unless you cure it well.
I choose just about any water resistant paint that is the color that I want.
