hi i have not been on in a while however last time i was on i ask for identification of a poly i had bought form a lfs at a cheep £1.50 long story short CFC idenifyed it as a baby p delzhieri

he is now feeding well eats river shrimp,prawn,cockles,mussels all sorts

he i now about 7" i read that they go to 16" how long would this take he is growing reasonablely well

i have housed him in a 5ft tank with 2 syno cats a jag and my ceacillian worm

the jag is 12" and doesnt mind the p delzheri but hates one of my cat the 7" featherfin :lol:
 
p. delhezi usually maxes out around 14 inches.

Like most bichirs, they have a huge growth spurt when young (1"/month), and then seem to slow down considerably around the 10-12" mark.
 
They max out around 14 inches as Astro said however the growth spurt tends to slow 7-9 inches then you can expect normaly about an inch a year or so right.about 7-9 inches they tend to start filling out losing some of that snake look-Anne
